Case Studies
A legal firm using an image management system found that their cases could be handled by 2.5 fewer temporary full-time clerks than before they implemented the system. With the previous paper-based system, clerks spent large amounts of time retrieving documents identified in database searches, photocopying the documents, delivering the copies to attorneys and legal assistants, and refiling the originals. The clerks also spent considerable time searching for misfiled originals. 2.5 clerks earning $14/hour for 160 hours/month over 14 months would cost the firm $78,400 (Socha, 1996).
Pharmaceutical giant Glaxo implemented an EDMS and saved over $1 million per year associated with search and retrieval time. However, financial benefits were not the most valuable benefits realized. Each New Drug Application process requires about 50,000 pages of data preparation and documentation; the EDMS and its indexing system allowed Glaxo to prepare this documentation and receive clearance from the Food and Drug Administration much more quickly than before. Thus, EDMS implementation enabled Glaxo to collapse their business cycle and get their product to market sooner than their competitors (Perkins, 1999).
 
What is Scanning & Indexing?
Scanning and Indexing provides the conversion of paper records to electronic format. Scanning and Indexing is a superior function to the old style of filing. Scanning and Indexing utilizes OCR technology for creating digital images and most importantly, a digital library. The digital library acts as an electronic filing system where the user has the choice of searching their records in any possible way imaginable.

When it comes to Scanning and Indexing, Eagle Provides its Customers Three Options:
1.) Scan at your place of business (We Can Provide Training and Equipment)
2.) Have your paper documents picked up by Eagle Innovations to be scanned
3.) Create a P.O. Box and have your paper scanning material sent to that P.O. Box to be scanned and indexed by Eagle Innovations

Once Eagle Innovations Receives the Items I want Scanned and Indexed, how long does it Take Before I can Access my Information?
If you are scanning the information, you will have immediate access to all of your newly scanned and indexed files via a web portal; however, if the staff at Eagle Innovations is Scanning and Indexing your items at our location the cycle-time for processing is 24 hours.

Security
As members of our team are trained ex-military personnel, people who were responsible for the consultation of government security projects, we take security very seriously. No stone will be left unturned, and any vulnerability to your data could only come from your end. We will explain.
Our network only allows computers you have authorized to connect to it. If you have not authorized a computer and are trying to log on, you won’t be able to access the network. If, however, an unauthorized computer needs access, there is a solution (described below.)

How Do I Access My Data from Computers, I Have not Authorized?
If you should want other IP addresses to connect to Eagle’s web-based portal, you will need to set up a VPN server that has an authorized IP address. In-turn, by allowing other computers to connect to your VPN server; your organization you will be verifying that it is OK for those people to access Eagle's web portal and allowing them access, via your network. Eagle’s IT department can set-up your VPN server upon request.
